A huge thank you going out to to everyone who attended the Animation Day celebration we had last night in Burbank, California! I'll be following with a wrap up of the evening soon, with some photos I took. Last night's event set a new standard for what we've been trying to accomplish with the idea of Animation Day. Thanks again to all for a very memorable community experience!

Celebrating in Burbank, California!

Here's the offical press release...

The animation community is welcome to celebrate Animation Day on April 1,2008 in Burbank, California. This is the 10th year in a row of a tradition which started in 1999. Animation Day is a social gathering celebrating fraternal goodwill between professionals in the animation industry. Everyone is welcome. The event is sponsored by The Animation Academy and AnimationNation.com. There'll be plenty of pizza and people, including a celebration of AWN's 12th anniversary.

Animation Day will be held at the Burbank Association of Realtors Hall located at 2006 W. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, 91506 on Tuesday evening, April 1st from 7:30 to 10:00 pm. Doors open at 7:00. Free parking. A $5 donation is requested to help pay for food.

Celebrate unity, commaderie and the creative spirit that makes the animation industry unique in the field of entertainment.

Animation Day 2008 is right around the corner!

Thank you very much for visiting this blog over the past 11 months. A special thanks to the many international visitors we've had during this time. It's very heartening to see this kind of activity.

Animation Day in Burbank, California will be sponsored by The Animation Academy and celebrated the evening of April 1 at the hall of the Burbank Association of Realtors located at 2006 W. Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank. We'll be having a pizza party and welcoming visitors from professionals to students to friends who believe in what Animation Day represents. The event is free except for a $5 donation we'll be asking if you'd like to eat so we can cover the cost of the food.

I'll be following up with more details over the next few days as we get closer to April 1.

I've received confirmation from another influential organization of their committment to being a part of Animation Day.

The Animation Co-op has joined Animation Day and will be a part of this experience. With the Co-op and AWN, along with several individuals coming in to roost, there's a lot to crow about just days into this endeavor.

The Animation Co-op is a community in which a diversity of independent animation is supported and celebrated. The organization has chapters throughout the US. Hello and welcome to this very special blog.

Animation Day is a concept in progress. The purpose of which is to develop Tuesday, April 1, 2008 as a day in which animation professionals, students, fans, organizations and everyone involved in and in love with animation can celebrate the art together.

How this will turn out? Who knows, but we've got nearly a year to the day to have fun with building it out.

I've been hosting an established animation forum for several years and as such, ask the consideration of friends and visitors as I haven't opened the Animation Day blog to comments. One forum is enough and believe me folks, I do appreciate the break in maintaining a discussion situation. If you're interested in actively participating in community discussion concerning Animation Day, feel free to register with AnimationNation.com. Once you've gone through the registration process and have a cleared account, you'll be able to participate online with an incredible group of people.

You won't find any political issues or controversial topics here, industry related or otherwise. Just lots of happiness, goodwill and frequently posted updates as to where Animation Day is heading based upon the input of many talented and enthusiastic individuals and dedicated organizations and support groups.

I've added a link section to the right of the page entitled "Animation Day Includes..." and committed the first organization in support and sponsorship of Animation Day.
